A Big Step Foward for a Rural Community
St. Charles Family Care Clinic in Prineville launched its renovation and expansion project to provide the community with access to state-of-the-art facilities and specialists while reducing travel to neighboring communities. Originally licensed as a Rural Health Clinic (RHC), the new design required careful integration of new with existing RHC spaces to guarantee compliance.
The design adds a new clinic pod shared by immediate care and specialists. Clark Kjos utilized clinic standards to organize the new clinic pods around a flexible care team space and centralized meds room. The outpatient rehabilitation department, with four bays and an enlarged gym, is located to enjoy expansive mountain views to the north and west.
The project includes remodeling the centralized patient check-in desk for outpatient services with flexible bays and cross-trained registration staff serving all departments. The design reduces patient wait times while also improving the Hospital’s bottom line by eliminating the need for redundant staff
