Embracing Patient Well-being
Northwest Kidney Centers Renton was a tenant improvement in a light industrial/office building in a business park. This new state-of-the-art facility brings 36 dialysis stations and a specialized suite dedicated to the teaching of Home Dialysis, a vital treatment alternative. With the understanding that patients often arrive in waves, the front entry drop off area was designed to shield patients from the elements.
Stepping inside, a thoughtfully designed vestibule minimizes the intrusion of chilly air, as dialysis patients often experience heightened sensitivity to cold temperatures. Welcoming patients, a reception station awaits just beyond, ensuring seamless navigation. The clinic's layout is intuitively structured: one side seamlessly opens up to the dialysis clinic, while gracefully curved walls on the opposite side guides visitors towards the Home Dialysis suite.
The dialysis area occupies one end of the building, with large windows on three sides offering daylight and views to an adjoining park, and internal glass partitions giving staff the ability to monitor patients for safety from central work centers. At the building’s opposite end is an education/conference space, with abundant natural light, courtesy of the expansive full-height glass walls.
