Bringing Healthcare Services to Southern Oregon

Curry Medical Center provides this remote Southern Oregon region with significantly expanded healthcare services. Clark/Kjos designed the building’s program to include a laboratory, infusion services, imaging, physical therapy and orthopedic, pediatric and family practice clinics. The building also features the only standalone emergency department in the State of Oregon.

Located on a prominent site in the center of town, the exterior of the building is designed to create a strong visual presence for the hospital. In addition, it is oriented to take advantage of the natural views afforded by the wooded site and nearby wetlands. Non-traditional butterfly roofs contribute to the building’s contemporary appearance and maximize natural light at both ends of the building. Clerestory windows bring light deep into the space, fostering a healing environment.
