Navigating the Journey to Recovery
In Oregon, ranked second for substance use disorders but last in treatment accessibility, Lincoln County unveils a solution: a 16-bed Newport facility for adults seeking recovery. This project addresses the critical gap in local services, offering residential care, intensive outpatient programs, group and individual therapy, medication-assisted treatments, and peer support. The facility is equipped with a commercial kitchen, medical exam space, a library, living areas, exercise zones, and flexible spaces for recovery services. Public areas promote informal recovery interactions, complementing formal education. The design emphasizes nature, communal outdoor areas, and private spaces for reflection, embodying trauma-informed care principles. This initiative represents a significant step toward bridging Oregon's treatment accessibility gap, providing a holistic approach to substance use disorder recovery.
