Health Center Reimagined for UO Student Body

Clear and convenient access to services is something everyone needs. The students at the University of Oregon, exceeding the capacity of the University’s Health Services building, had to also contend with a facility that was confusing to navigate. Research indicated that some patients, stressed by indecision at entry, immediately left without receiving care.

The major three-story addition/remodel teamed CKA with the UO to create a new, state-of-the-art healthcare experience for students, increasing service capacity by over fifty percent. This addition provides a flexible platform for growth in support of a holistic range of outpatient services, including primary care, lab, radiography, dental care, physical therapy, behavioral health, and counseling.

A new entrance, main lobby, prominent stairwell and elevator, and registration and waiting areas help create clear pathways to each service in a calming procession. Views of the outdoors and daylight help create a youthful yet serene expression of health.
